Olaitan Adelakun
Olaitan Adelakun is a Registered Provisional Psychologist (P8103) with the College of Alberta Psychologists and a member of the Psychologists’ Association of Alberta.
Olaitan has over 10 years of experience in the non-profit sector, where she began her career working with children and families. She currently works with the Government of Alberta, supporting a diverse range of individuals, including children, adults, seniors, people with disabilities, and immigrants, to help them achieve their goals and address their unique needs.
Olaitan understands the importance of culturally sensitive counseling and incorporates this approach in her work with clients. Her expertise includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy (NT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and culturally-informed therapy.
She is passionate about supporting individuals—youth, adults, and couples—dealing with issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, low self-esteem, addiction, and other behavioral challenges that can impact quality of life. Olaitan recognizes that seeking therapy can be a difficult decision, and she commends you for taking this important step.
