Kiran Bains

Kiran is a Registered Provisional Psychologist (P7422) with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP). 

Kiran began her career as a social worker and has over a decade of experience in the mental health field. Kiran believes in working from a person centred approach, where she works alongside her clients by empowering them to be the best version of themselves within their own capacity. Kiran is an empathetic listener and creates a safe and validating space for her clients. 

Kiran is passionate about working with adults and couples focusing on a variety of areas including anxiety, depression, self esteem, stress/burnout, relationships and cultural/intergenerational difficulties. As a mom herself Kiran has a keen interest in working with women specifically in the areas of fertility, parenting, and overall maternal mental health. Kiran also focuses on cultural competence being an important part of the therapy process and can provide services in both English and Punjabi. 

Kiran works from an attachment based lens and uses a variety of modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and the Gottman’s Method for couples.

In her spare time Kiran enjoys spending time with her family and travelling.
