Ania Telfer

Ania Telfer is a recent Master of Counselling graduate from City University of Seattle and is awaiting her provisional registration with CAP. She is currently practicing as a mental health therapist and awaiting registration as a certified Canadian counsellor and provisionally registered psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists. Born in Tkaronto (Toronto) to Polish parents, Ania has been based in amiskwacîwâskahikan (Edmonton) since 2006. Beyond counselling, Ania is a professional artist, holds a graduate certificate in Spiritually Focused Expressive Arts from St. Stephen's College and a BA in Communications from Concordia University in Montreal.

Ania specializes in trauma-informed, evidence-based therapy, integrating experiential, somatic, and art therapy approaches with neuroscience, attachment theory, and mindfulness. Her practice supports clients in navigating anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and emotional challenges, fostering deep healing and personal transformation.

With a strong interest in veteran populations and military trauma, Ania’s graduate research focused on moral injury in military populations and the role of art therapy in healing. She brings over two decades of arts-based learning experience and a deep understanding of research to her therapeutic work, using creative modalities to promote emotional resilience and well-being.

Ania has lived, worked, and traveled across Europe and Asia, speaks several languages, and loves learning about different cultures.

Outside of her counselling practice, she enjoys yoga, a cozy cup of tea, creating art and spending time in nature. She loves water and horses and is currently involved in training a very cute service dog.
