Being able to validate emotions; normalize the messy experience that is being a human; model compassion; and help people gain deeper insights into their inner worlds (ie. thoughts, feelings), are the foundational pieces of therapy I enjoy most. It truly is an honour to hear people's stories. When life gets chaotic or when everything seems so dark, I will hold space and help you learn ways to navigate strong emotions, reconnect with your body and manage unhelpful thoughts.
With over 10 years in the mental health field, I have been involved in treating a variety of mental health issues and concurrent disorders. Specifically, depression, emotional dysregulation, borderline personality disorder, anxiety, trauma and post traumatic stress disorder, substance use and addictions, postpartum depression/anxiety, workplace stress and anger.
I want to acknowledge the courage it takes to initiate and begin therapy. It is anxiety provoking, and it can be scary. As a therapist I cannot describe how incredibly resilient the human spirit is, especially during times of turmoil. Your curiosity has led you this far and I will be here for you."
