Alana Wright (Enders)
Alana is awaiting registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists and is a member of the Psychologist Association of Alberta (PAA).
In her practice, Alana wants to ensure every individual is cared for while ensuring their needs are being met. Additionally, she hopes to create a safe and compassionate environment while working towards improvement with her clients. She views counselling as an opportunity to explore and navigate challenges, while working collaboratively with the client to help them overcome obstacles.
Alana utilizes an integrative approach to counselling as she believes there isn’t just one approach that can help a client. She believes it’s important to account for the client as an individual and use elements from different approaches to best support them. However, Alana does enjoy the use of Attachment Based Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, and Solution-Focused.
A powerful tool Alana believes can help promote relationship development, communication, and attendance is humor. She values having a sense of humor, as humor can bring people together and changes how we feel. Where appropriate, it can also help us change how we perceive events.
Alana has worked with children, adolescents, adults, and seniors throughout her career. Each demographic presented a new challenge, which developed creativity, problem-solving skills, and effective decision-making. In her spare time, Alana enjoys traveling, painting, knitting/crocheting, and spending time with her friends and family.
